Porcelain gaiwan
A porcelain gaiwan from Dehua with a capacity of 130 ml, made from select kaolin clay sourced locally, renowned for its purity and fine composition.
Fired at 1,340°C using traditional techniques, it combines strength and durability with the fine texture, soft milky-white appearance with slight translucency, characteristic of Dehua porcelain. The matte unglazed finish is hand-polished before and after firing, giving the surface a soft, smooth feel to the touch.
The thick-walled body retains heat efficiently, making it ideal for brewing high-temperature teas such as black tea, oolong, or pu-erh. The horseshoe shape provides a comfortable grip and allows for precise pouring, making it a practical tool for preparing tea in the gongfu style.
